Also, my cousin Alexa and her two boys (Elie and Abram) were able to come over as well to swim and hang out. My other cousin (Sara) and her son, Moss, also joined us for a little while. Sara and Moss moved to Athens from Florida in August. It was such a joy getting to see them both - Sara seems to have settled into life in Athens well and Moss seems like such a great, great kid. Special prayers for Alexa this week as she travels to Mississippi for a memorial service for a dear friend of hers who was inexplicably murdered last week. This has been a tough few days for her - hugs, cuz.
Elie had a great time paddling around the pool and exhibited a real confidence in the pool - it was fun to see. Abram was adorable running around with his bunny crackers and having a cracker goatee no matter what Alexa did! Anna was being a little *too* quiet one evening and after further looking, she had decided to raid Alexa's backpack - found some goodies!
And then on Sunday, we went to visit Alexa, Elie and Abram's new house. They live in a great little community called Earthsong (http://earthsong.cc) just outside of Athens. They live in a wonderful little cabin in the woods - it's a contemporary design with an open floor plan and soaring windows with a large deck overlooking the woods. They share a very large community garden with the other Earthsong residents. We visited the garden and found some ripe strawberries.
Then we hiked down to the Oconee River which the kids really enjoyed.
