People really do get used to the heat!

No doubt about it.  Summer is here.  High of 111 F today, the lows are in the high 90s and humidity is really picking up.  Except for swimming and things that involve getting wet, we pretty much restrict ourselves to indoor activities.  So imagine our surprise the other day when we saw our neighbor's house with an outdoor bouncy slide set up in their yard!  Since everyone has giant walls around their houses, you can't *really* see someone's yard but this bouncy slide sticks up beyond their walls that are taller than usual.  I can't figure out how/ when they were able to play outside recently.  The locals tend to stay up quite late and nap through the heat of the day so I'm guessing this was a late evening birthday party.  But still!  No bouncy slide parties for us right now - unless it slides into a chilled pool (yes, our pools have heaters in the winter and chillers in the summer - we're all about the environment in this part of the world!).

The tip-top of a bouncy slide the brave, local, heat-loving neighbors
put up for a party this week in the 111-ish degree temps!
