Brr - we're not used to cold weather!

More autumn fun and adventures

Anna is off from school so she and I head to the Museum of Natural history.  Observing bugs here (she was *not* interested in holding a giant cockroach!)

Fun in the butterfly pavilion.  Can you see the blue butterfly to the left of her head?  They were everywhere!

One liked Anna's skirt

Dropped some mail off at the house of the people we bought our house from and got to take their dog for a walk when we discovered the wife and kids were out of town.  Big treat for our girls and we think Cooper liked it, too.

Sadly this big guy in our backyard has died and needs to come down.  It was fascinating to watch how they did it as they couldn't get any big equipment into our backyard.

Branches would come swinging down - they were a "controlled" release but it was still nerve-wracking thinking they would swing into our house.

Cousin Helen with our girls.  She and her mom came for a visit to their old stomping grounds - we're sad that they don't still live here but fun to see them.

Branches are all gone and this brave guy is at the very top of a tall, bare trunk

He would cut a little off at a time and just push it off.  Felt like an earthquake each time one part of the trunk would fall.

Anna's sweet note with her offering at church

Jane, Meredith and I volunteered at an organization that their school supports.  We cooked dinner for a group at a home for addicts.  We had a wonderful experience and visited with some very interesting people.

Mere and Camryn - they were in charge of the waffles to go with the "chicken and waffles" menu of rate evening.

Fun to get help from a high schooler

The student volunteers and all the food they helped prepare

I go to pick up Anna at her after-school and she really just wants to stay a "little" bit longer!

Jane at another cross-country meet

Almsot to the finish line

Yay, Eagles!

With wonderful Coach Teal

Love having my girls do homework at the island while I make dinner.   Jane's math teacher does a "flipped" classroom.  She watches the lecture by video at night and gets much more personalized time during class the next day.

After our trip to the library.

Jake joins us for breakfast (by Skype!)

Anna always loves a little extra time at her playground.

Jane's cross country meet.  Ready. Set. Go!  60 girls ran in this meet.

Here she comes - she came in 10th and her team came in 2nd.  Beat her personal best time.  Yay, Jane!

Happy kid

Hey - I'm squished!

Pretty girls with the pretty leaves changing
