North Carolina videos

Here are a few videos of some of our NC adventures.  The first one is of Regan and Jane doing some sort of Wii dance game with their friends.  Cute stuff (and Clark may *love* having this video resurface years from now..... in fact, they all might feel the same way!)

Dan and Susan's neighbors have a wonderful zipline in their backyard.  I was so proud of the girls for trying it (and once they did, they loved it and did it over and over!).  Jane had to watch for a while to evaluate its safety but eventually gave it the nod and went for it.

Meredith was so brave and just gave it a try right away.  She fell when she landed the 2nd time she did it (flip flops don't make for good landing on wet grass!), shed a few tears and then jumped up and tried it again.

Regan was the first of the girls to give it a whirl.  You can tell she's very relaxed about it all.

Ok, and even *I* got with the fun.  I decided to give it a try since the girls were having so much fun (and the neighbor assured me it was strong enough for an adult!).  I must confess, I had a "failed" launch the first time (it looked much higher once I got up there!).  So I let the kids have another turn, took a deep breath and then went for it (whew...).

We also hit the Black Mountain Honey Festival.  One hightlight was the "toss a ping pong ball in a fish bowl" game.  All six gives tried with no hits.  Except for Regan who landed in two bowls!  Her prize?  Two goldfish (real live ones).  Dan and Susan breathed a big sigh of relief that she didn't win the bunny rabbit.

A few of the kids tried out the climbing wall.  Regan is *really* scared of heights but gave a good effort and made it about 1/2 way up (she was also handicapped by the flip flops which aren't exactly world class rock climbing shoes).  Mere tried, too, but didn't make it very far (still proud she tried).  Zach and Alex zipped right up to the top like it was a Sunday walk around the park.

Here goes Alex, zip pity-zip.

And, Zach, too!
