Fall fun

A few photos of our busy fall.

Soccer season #1 has begun!  First game at our school

Jane's team lining up to high five the other team

6th grade huddle.  Jane was elected co-captain by her team!

6th grade team - silliness

Meredith's 4th grade team

Hanging out at NYU Abu Dhabi waiting on Jane who's doing a middle school leadership program there

Regan is off to Thailand on a service trip for a week

Jane is off to Greece for a week to study the ancient Greeks

Pumpkin carving -  pumpkins are pricey here so we only ever get one not-so-big one!

Our little candy corn girl

Homemade ghosts on our gate and our only two trick-or-treaters since the big sisters are gone

End of season soccer tournament (I watched Meredith's team in Dubai while Jake went to Jane's in Abu Dhabi)

Burj al Arab hotel in the background!

Hot and tired!

They played four games -  2 wins and 2 ties and zero losses!

Some birthday parties in Abu Dhabi are fancier than weddings.  Here's Anna at a fabulous Halloween birthday party - magic show, haunted house, DJ, food definitely good enough for a wedding.  Enjoy it while you can, Anna - they don't have parties like this in the US.  She loved it and said it's the best party she's ever been to.

Meanwhile in Greece... Jane having a great time.

Anna all ready for her first sleepover.  She said she got a little homesick at bedtime but all of the rest was okay.

Cooking school in Barcelona on a work trip.

Dear friend Beth visiting from the US - wonderful to have them here for a very short visit on their way from South Africa to Israel

No school?  Newly opened amusement park?  Let's go check it out.

Grand Mosque lego version

Meredith peek-a-boo in the Grand Mosque

A ride with a bit of an upper body workout

Tea cups

The girls loved perfecting their lego car design to see which design went the fastest

Tiny roller coaster - no picture of us on the big one

Fun firefighter ride where we had to pump to make the truck go, pump to squirt water on the 'fire' and then jump back in the truck and pump to get back 'home.'  It was a hot day and quite the workout.  Regan and I (with a bit of Anna's help) beat out all six teams!

Taj Mahal.  Sad Anna because she just spent 15 dirhams of her own money trying to win a giant stuffed unicorn.  I warned her the games are hard but she was convinced she could knock all six cans over....

One last building effort before we go

Jake and Anna went to make art on their Daddy/ daughter date

Super moon!

Weekend away in Dubai.  We're on the Palm (island shaped like a giant palm tree) - Atlantis is in the background

Regan and Jake having a Daddy/ daughter date at Le Miserables at the new Dubai Opera House
