Happy 5th Birthday, Anna!

Another big milestone - our littlest has hit the big handful of fingers!  It's been a fun week of celebrating! On her actual birthday, she took in homemade s'mores bars to share with her classmates.  They made her feel special all day and she got to go the principal's office for a special birthday pencil and birthday wish from Mr. Johnon.

We had a nice family celebration later than night with Anna's special menu of Annie's mac-n-cheese (which has to be specially mailed from the US), red apple slices (with NO peel), broccoli and lemonade.  Followed by more s'mores.  Anna did NOT like the lit candles - they really scared her for some reason.

When the weekend came, Anna gathered with her friends at a little kids' gym in town.  Now, I know these kids gyms are all over the place in the US and parties there are no big deal, but this place is relatively new in Abu Dhabi and this was a big treat for all the kids.  What a wonderful little place.  We're glad My First Gym has arrived in Abu Dhabi but I sure could have used it when Anna was not in school yet for fun mom and me gymnastics classes!

The girls ran around, jumped, played, dangled, zip-lined and rolled.  They gym staff organized some really fun games and gave Anna lots of great attention.  We all had a wonderful time at Anna's 5th birthday party!

Anna dressed up on her birthday and donned a Happy Birthday crown that she wore all.day.long.  She did say that her PE teacher made her take it off for the last 1/2 of PE!

Whoa - those flames are scary!

Too scary!  Her sisters blew them out quickly and all was well.

S'mores bars for her birthday!  Life is better now that the fire is gone.

Call out to Gammy for sending Anna's request for dinner (it got mailed all the way from the US!)

Puppy backpack and PJs from Gaga and Grandpa Carl

American Girl doggy bath from Gammy and Poppy.  Jane was a bit jealous!

Mask craft from Uncle Bob and Aunt Mary Ann

Magformers from Uncle Dan and Aunt Susan - they have been a big hit with all the girls!

Anna's main gift - a camper playhouse!  Her cardboard castle is about to fall apart and still gets used so here is a sturdier replacement.

Olaf from Frozen

Our helper, Ms. Leah, gave Anna this dress fro her birthday (and tiara).  The sisters planned a coronation event.  Jane is the royal puppy dog escorting Princess Anna to the throne.

Once the weekend hit, off to Anna's birthday party at My First Gym

Ball pit!

Whee!  Down the ramp

Stretching time

Even Jake is doing his "rainbow" stretch

LOVE how the big sisters aren't too big to join in the fun

Sack race!

Clean your room game where you try to throw the balls into the other side's "room"

Zip line time.  Anna did it twice but we managed to not get a good photo of her.  We were very proud she did it - she's not known for her willingness to try scary things!

Dangling birthday girl

Counting for hide and seek

Anna came out in a wagon to "Isn't She Lovely" by Lional Ritchie.  She wasn't sure about that!

Cupcake time

Not so sure about the flames on the candles

Ok, they are far enough way this is okay.

Little more playtime

Another masterful creation by Princess Anna (she has worn a tiara I think everyday this week!)
