Big news on housing front

Although I am trying not to count our chickens before they hatch, we have big news on the housing front this week - both in Charlotte and in Abu Dhabi. We received two offers on our house this weekend (spent a lot of our weekend visiting Dan and Susan in Asheville on the phone!). And Jake found us a house in Abu Dhabi. I think the Abu Dhabi news is more interesting to most folks. After doing an internet search, I found that someone had posted a picture of a house in our compound. Here it is. It is a single family home - but it looks more like a condominium community as you can see how close the houses are together. The gate in front opens to a small courtyard in the front of the house. The "garage" is really a carport with a tent roof covering. Downstairs is a living room, dining room, a round breakfast room (may be difficult to find a big round table to go in it!), kitchen, guest bedroom & office or playroom. There is also a small maid's apartment with an exterior entry. 2nd floor has 4 bedrooms. 3rd floor has a large room (playroom or guest room) and another small maid's room. The compound shares a pool, a gym and tennis courts. It also has a small restaurant. It's quite close to the school (if you are ambitious, you can get on wikimapia and find both Liwa Village (where we'll be living, American Community School (elementary school) and Jake's work (ADIA). They are all pretty close to each other on the western side of Abu Dhabi island.
