San Francisco trip 2010

10 days in San Francisco. Fun all around and makes us appreciate all the great friends that we still have that are there. Thanks, all for a fantastic visit. The primary reason for our visit was for Jason Seay's wedding (Jake's college roommate and dear friend). The wedding was wonderful and Jason's bride, Kim, seems so, so wonderful! Her family is big and close and we think Jason will slot right in. We would also love to spend Thanksgiving on the almond farms sometime they seem like so much fun. Hopefully it will work out at some point to make it out there. Thanks, Kim and Jason!

Here are a few photos (more are on our shutterfly page at www.puryears.shutterfly.com). I'm not technologically savvy enough to have all this consolidated just yet).

We did so very much during our stay. Our first night, there Laney and Jon (and their adorable 7-month old Campbell) brought us dinner. Sunday was crazy. Morning at our old church - surprised them with a visit. What a wonderful treat to be able to hear Don Creasman preach and see all our old Golden Gate Community Church friends. Dashed across the bridge for lunch and afternoon with dear friends in Mill Valley. Then went the other direction to the South Bay to get our old Bible Study together. 5 families made it (none of us were married when we started) - 12 kids were there (and more who couldn't be there). Betsy Ellis and her husband Peter Chung hosted us (and made it look easy). Thank you! The picture of all the kids on the stairs is from that night.

Monday morning spent with my old business school roommate Betty and her sons Duke and Kai in Piedmont (East Bay) Then off to Bain friend Emma's house where we got naps and a swim in. Then off to dinner with Louisa and Tom Shield's house (Louisa is another business school friend). Robbie and her two were able to also join us (unfortunately Andy was stuck in the OR doing a surgery).

Things slowed down a bit after those crazy days. Tuesday in East Bay with Kirsten and Erick and their fabulous backyard (pool, sunken trampoline, sand palace and more!). Tuesday was also the day that our rental minivan was towed. Don't ask. I *really* thought I was legal... The prayers in the taxi (with four kids) worked. We arrived safely to fetch our rental vehicle. Weds a really wonderful dinner in Oakland with Alex and Shelley (pre-business school work friend of Jake's). They really pampered us during our evening with them. Thursday dinner with the Creasman's from our old church Friday was rehearsal dinner and Saturday was wedding (after spending a very windy morning with Bredemann clan on a walk and picnic out to Crissy Field).

On Sunday, Jake caught a flight to Dubai and I had a great dinner with Courtney. Also squeezed some time in with Sandra (aka Sha-Sha) who was our nanny for 3 1/2 years in San Francisco. We miss her (and her husband Luis) so much.

Monday, I flew back to Charlotte on my own with all the girls. Flight wasn't horrible but not something I want to sign up for again anytime soon!
