Happy birthday, Jane - a new teenager!

Despite limited photographic evidence, Jane *did* have a small birthday party with three friends that was a lot of fun.  They did one of the "Escape Rooms" which is kind of like a 3D/ real life "Clue" game.  Although Jane and her friends weren't quite able to solve the mystery, I am super impressed that Jake (the chaperone) was able to keep quiet and let the girls do it on their own (not sure I would have exhibited such self-restraint!).  Afterwards they had pizza and cake at our house and watched an old favorite movie (High School Musical) which ones of Jane's friends had never seen - which our girls couldn't believe!

We also had a bit of an adventure before the Escape room where I dashed Jane to the pediatrician between school and party to deal with a case of pink eye - we left her friends at school and let them wander around a school festival on their own.  Thankful for our efficient pediatrician's office here which got us in and out quite fast.

Jane's party was originally supposed to also be a sleepover party but a 7:30 a.m. swim meet the next day got in the way a little bit - but we still had two of the girls sleep over but poor things couldn't stay up late and they certainly couldn't sleep in.

Happy birthday, Jane and welcome to your teenage years.  We're so happy to be with you on this journey.
