Summer sleepaway camp pick-up

Last year Anna complained the whole week that her sisters were at camp that she wished she could have gone to camp.  This year we let her go and she decided she was nervous about and not so sure she wanted to go after all!  But she survived and I think even managed to have a good time!  This was Regan's 5th year, Jane's 4th and Meredith's 2nd year at Kanakuk which is an amazing set of camps in the Missouri Ozarks.

From North Carolina, Jake put the girls on a flight by themselves to Arkansas (and they did great).  Once there they had a week to hang out with Gammy and Poppy who helped them get ready for camp.  With Uncle John's help, they got all four off to Kanakuk.  Because Regan's camp is 45 minutes away, it's a family effort to make that happen.  John took Regan to her camp and Gammy and Poppy took the other three.   I love how John ran into some people he knew at camp who were a wee bit curious at who he was dropping off!

The girls all seemed to have had a great time at camp - Anna says she was homesick a bit but still managed to enjoy herself.  Having two sisters there probably helped quite a bit.  After being away from my girls for two weeks, it sure was special that I could help pick them up!

We only had a couple of more days in Arkansas before we were off again.  Many, many thanks to Gammy & Poppy and my whole extended family for a fabulous two trips to Arkansas this summer.
