Not much to report in May as it seems like the period of time between spring break and the end of the school year has us running a bit ragged! Lots of school projects and performances, interspersed with park trips when the weather holds and swimming when it heats up. We've had a particularly cool spring this year which has enabled us to enjoy the outdoors so much more!
Starting in 1st grade, the kids at our school set a non-school related goal and have to present about it by the end of the year. In true Laura fashion, we just squeezed them in by the end of the year (weeks in advance - plenty of time!!). Regan had an archery goal and Jane's was knitting. They pulled it off even if the purse Jane said she would make ended up being more doll-sized. She still practiced hard to learn how to knit and did a great job.
I took a quick weekend trip to Turkey with dear friends Susie and Courtney (I'll have to add photos later as we let Susie with her newfound photography skills be our official photographer of the group). Susie also came to the UAE for a week afterwards and we had a fun time showing her around.

Check out Anna giving the introduction to the preschool concert.
They told her to speak loud and slow and she did a great job!

Jane's class musical was about the grown-up
Jackie Paper (from Puff the Magic Dragon)
who tells kids stories. Sweet story.
Regan's class musical had such a great message - it made
me a little teary-eyed. All about helping others.
