Mother's Day

It's hard to know which Mother's Day to celebrate here.  The UAE one, I think, was in March.  There is either a British or European one on another day, too.  Since the kids are at an American school, they tend to still follow the American calendar so we stick with the regular US Mother's Day - even though Sunday is a regular work and school day here.  So we mostly celebrated on Saturday.  I was able to sleep in (yay!), received a lovely insulated coffee cup from Jake and the girls (I only have one that doesn't leak so it was definitely needed) and they took me out to dinner at Jones the Grocer (yummy).  Jake also made a generous donation in my honor to the Worldwide Fistula Foundation (if you don't know about fistulas, it is a very, very, very worthy cause and I feel honored Jake did this to help mothers in very poor countries in very dire straights).

Meredith's class had a lovely Mother's Day Tea where the kids sat us and fixed our plates.  They also sang for us and did a zumba dance (they do weekly zumba to help with coordination and for active fun).  Jane and Regan made lovely cards and crafts for me.  Anna is at a British/ Arabic nursery so it wasn't Mother's Day there.

Thanks everyone and happy mother's day to Gaga and Gammy, too!

They made their own homemade paper
for the Mother's Day cards!
