8 a.m. Got out the door to take Jane to school (I kept Regan home due to not feeling well with swimmers ear/ ear ache - she was up some with a fever the night before). I had already taken her to the doctor the day before which was our first foray into UAE healthcare - another post on that but all was well!).
8:45 - Left to take Meredith and Anna to their first day of preschool. Showed up at preschool that we had toured (and one close to our house) and that we thought we were attending. Turns out the spots we had gotten were at their other location. Was flustered (and mad!) over the confusion. Loaded up all three kids (including Regan) to find our way to right preschool. Got lost. Anna is in process of dropping morning nap and as long as she is busy, she does okay. Sitting in car for 45+ minutes does not count as busy so she screams last 20 minutes of lost driving.
9:45 - finally find right preschool. Was nearly an hour late! This preschool was much calmer than first one (or maybe things had calmed down since an hour had passed since drop-off!). Decide that after our harried drive, this was not the day for Anna's first day of school so I only leave Meredith (well, I'm totally on the fence about anna and preschool anyway - she is too young so this experiment is more for me than her until we get some good reliable childcare help - she may love it though so we'll give it a try).

10:15 - make it home to look up email correspondence to figure out who to be mad at over location mix-up (was looking to be mad at Jake or preschool). But it was clearly an oversight by me (oops!). Sorry Jake and preschool for looking for a scapegoat. In my defense, the email that states we got slots just stated the branch location (Al Mushrif vs. Al Mehairba) and didn't specially say that the slots were at a different location. I just missed that...
10:30 - left with Regan to find pharmacy to get her ear drop prescription filled and then plan to take her to school. Find pharmacy. Was such a crazy madhouse about parking that I give up and head to plan B pharmacy (on the other side of their school). Still crazy parking but find a semi-legal one. Get to door and there is a big sign saying this pharmacy doesn't take insurance. Pooey. I wait in line to find out how much it will cost without insurance. It's only $30ish so I just pay cash. Notice on our way in that Regan has on flip-flops on (not allowed at school) so we schlep back across town to get some real shoes.
11:50 - finally make to to Regan's school. No time to take ear drops to nurses offices as I must dash back for Anna's lunch before needing to pick up Meredith
12:10 - Anna's lunch
12:30 - leave for Meredith's school for pick-up to the not-so-close preschool. Learn that 12:30 is *the* time for all the construction workers in the entire city to be leaving the city for their afternoon break. Buses EVERYWHERE. First traffic jam I've been in.
1:10 - 10 minutes late to pick up Mere on first day of school. She bounds up to me and says, "Mom, guess what? One kid kicked me *and* hit me today! But I didn't cry." Teacher (Mrs. Linda) who is quite lovely hurried over to tell me that a little girl got a bit aggressive today with Meredith but they talked about it, she apologized, etc. Meredith didn't seem too fazed by it all and seemed to have had a great day.
1:45 - picked up Regan, Jane and a little neighbor girl from elementary. Dropped her off nearby.
2:20 - finally made it home.
What I accomplished today: 25% of my kids made it on-time to school today. 75% of them eventually made it there. 100% of them ate lunch. 100% of those that needed naps got them at some point. Time spent in car: too high. Anything other than the above that got accomplished: 0%
