Regan and Jane have really become best buddies over the past year. Jane and Meredith...not so much.... They can enjoy each other's company occasionally but I need to be nearby as someone will end up in tears. Meredith has a tendency to bash Jane over the head with whatever she has in her hands and Jane enjoys finding opportunities to irritate Meredith by subtly taking a toy. So I've worried about their relationship a little. But last week on our way to Meredith's gymnastics class, Jane sure showed me how she really feels about Jane and it just warmed my heart. Meredith beat us to the elevator and pushed the call button. I was trying to catch up (balancing baby, etc.) and Jane got there right as the door was closing (with Meredith on it!). Jane got quite upset and literally threw herself in the shrinking space of the closing door. I finally got there in time to push it open but Jane was clearly ready to risk life and limb to save Meredith (who, of course, was completely oblivious to the drama). Jane seemed pretty proud that she "rescued" Meredith.
