Winter school and family activities

Various winter fun and activities in Abu Dhabi and our family.

Off goes Jane in her first (and only) cross country meet.  She was on the soccer team but trained with the cross country team and filled in for one meet (our school doesn't allow middle schoolers to be on two sports teams in the same season - poor Jane, she wanted to do both!)

Regan was on the middle school team and was recruited to switch to the Junior Varsity team - yay, Regan!

Jane dashing towards the finish line - she came in 3rd (and missed 2nd by a tiny amount!)

Jane, Regan and Daniela (Regan's good friend)

Sisters!

Family fun day - doing Zumba - I even joined in for the fun

Kid vs. parent tetherball tournament.  Meredith had already beat me twice so I got the High School Principal to play her.  He thought he would have to 'go easy' on her but Meredith soundly beat him, too!

Mr. Wexler giving it his all but can't keep up with Mere!  Kids *soundly* won that competition (check out the line in the back of other kids and parents ready to compete)

Hula hoop time!

Anna and her great group of friends

Homework in Abu Dhabi in January - why yes, you can do it in the garden!

Meredith's soccer season time!

Dubai Opera House - off to see West Side Story with my three biggests

Jane's "Night at the Museum" exhibition on what they learned about Ancient Egypt.  Super impressed with Jane - she did every bit of her project all on her own.

Our little "Women's March" during the big Washington march.  We talked a bit about politics and the history of women.  Proud to be a mom to these strong ladies.

Tennis lesson time - look at Anna's backhand.

Anna learned to ride a bike!

Look at her go!

2nd grader dancers for UAE National Day

Swim time

Finally put together Jane's annual birthday gingerbread house from Gammy and Poppy - this year a Starbucks one.

1st try at softball for Meredith - she's been a strong team member!

Up for bat 3 times this game and three hits.  First was a great line drive and she made it on base.  Next two unfortunately were picked off by our neighbor Sam!
