Visiting friends x2!

So we've had a few visitors but not a whole ton, so it was super fun to hear that we would have two sets of visitors nearly back to back.  Jennifer (friend from business school) and her family came one week and soon after, dear friend Courtney brought her 9th grade son for a week as well.  Lots and lots of fun!  And as I upload these photos I see that I did a rotten job of taking photos with our first visitors.  Jennifer, help!  You took a ton so send me some!

Showing our friends an American international school

Regan and Ariel really hit it off during their visit.  here they are at Emirates Palace enjoying the place where part of Fast & Furious 7 was filmed.

Fabulous farewell dinner at our beach club.

Our second visitors.  This is Nick getting out of the car after "drifting" on the Formula One race track.  I had no idea was drifting was, but it's when you go around a curve so fast in a race car, that you slide a bit.  He had a lot of fun doing this!

Waiting to watch Nick drift

Checking out the race cars at Yas Marina Circuit

Anna hopped in, too.

Courtney doing her drifting thing - she did really, really well and got the hang of squealing around those corners!

Donut time!

Nick was able to ride and experience 'drifting,' but Courtney was able to drive and do it.  This was her instructor and she did great!

Our favorite place in the UAE - Qasr al Sarab in the desert.

We are doing sun rise dune bashing and our car is stopped at the top of the dune.  I have the camera lined up on the window sill to give you a sense of how steep we were!

Waris, our driver, and our trusty dune bashing Land Cruiser

It was great - but our guests both got a little car sick so we had to cut it short.

Regan and the beautiful sand.

Nick -  a little green...

Nick loved the sand and the scenery

That little speck is Meredith climbing an insanely high and steep sand dune.

Almost there!

Made it!

Regan decided she wanted to climb it, too.

So, so much fun to get to know my good friend's son, Nick.  He is whip smart and just a delight to be around.

Gorgeous Meredith shot

Yes, that's our car!

Farewell, Qasr al Sarab.  We'll save our pennies and try to visit another time!
