Jane turns 11!

Jane decided she wanted an adventurous party this year and invited a bunch of her friends for a dads vs. daughters paintball party.  Well, those little paint ball buggers hurt.  A lot.  So, although it *sounded* like a great idea, once we got started,  I wasn't so sure it was a great idea (in fact, when we had a few girls in tears after getting hit, I was convinced this had been a very, very bad idea!).  But at the end, all the girls (except one) voted over cake afterwards that they were glad they came and were proud of themselves for sticking with it.  The dads, on the other hand LOVED it.  I'm still not so sure about it all - can't help but feel a bit guilty that we hosted a party that had a few girls in tears, but they did rally and I think they learned a lot about trying even when they are scared and realizing that they are brave and tough kids!  Jane's glad she did it (but I don't think she'll do it again next year!).

Birthday girl!

Getting suited up.

Getting ready for the battle.

Jane listening to the safety briefing

Girls getting ready in the Wild West town for the "Capture the Flag" game.  The dads have to come get the green flag you can see hanging from the middle post on the left.

Getting in place as the dads start their offense.

Regrouping after Round 1 (it was intense - only 2 or 3 girls in tears..).  Round 2 split all the girls and dads into two teams (it was just *too* scary having all these big dads in black with helmets and big guns coming at them!)

Regan was a rock start and went on the offensive while most of the other girls huddled behind rocks.  But she got hit something like 7-8 times and was hurting!

They all survived and have smiles (yay!  it's over!).

Cake time
