Soccer season, winter fun and Jake's birthday

Our school's Mini-Viper soccer season just ended and Meredith and Jane had a great time.  The 1st graders play indoor soccer so this was Meredith's first team that played on the grass field.  This was Jane's 2nd soccer team - her fall team played other schools in the UAE while the mini-vipers are an intramural league where they all played kids they know at their own school.  Lots of fun (and cartwheels!) are had on the field.

Meredith's 2nd and 3rd grade team with their fun and fantastic coaches - the girls made progress in their basic soccer skills.

Jane's 4th and 5th grade team - their coaches have coached together for several years and were very experienced in helping these girls improve.

All four 2nd and 3rd grade teams.

Meredith thinking about going after the ball!

Anna mainly ran around during the games - but clearly enjoyed the lovely weather!

Jane after an out of bounds ball.  She loves throwing it in.

Love this shot - she's really going after the ball here.

Good game. Good game. Good game.

Finally got our marble run that Meredith got for her birthday put together.  It was a challenging project to put together but Jane and Meredith did great.

Walk to the playground - weather is great!  This was after Regan and Jake went for their weekly run.  Regan can run almost three miles now!!

We hosted three middle schoolers from the American school in Kathmandu for a math tournament called Math Counts.  Here are our three guests from Japan, Nepal and South Korea.  They had such a good time in Abu Dhabi and can't wait for the next Math Counts tournament next year in Dubai.  They particularly loved getting to go to the beach in February!

Regan's middle school dance squad put on an amazing performance at the middle school assembly.  I couldn't take a photo during the performance because all the lights were off and they performed the dance with a light in their hands.  It was so beautiful and the girls did such a great job with the choreography and dance.

Lookie!  Lookie at who made HIGH HONORS in her first semester at middle school.  It is not easy to make honors or especially high honors at our school.  We are particularly proud of Regan because this didn't come easy to her either.  She worked really hard for this recognition.  Yay, Regan!

Jake and his homemade ice cream pie that he requested

A new Atlanta Braves hat from Uncle Dan and Aunt Susan and new sunglasses from the girls
