Meredith's birthday shoes to Nepal

You might remember that Meredith asked her friends to bring a pair of shoes for kids in Nepal for her birthday party.  Well, the shoes finally made it there at Christmas.  Here is a bit of the journey from Abu Dhabi to Kathmandu.

Our friend Priscilla from church had told the kids about a home for kids in Kathmandu run by friends of theirs.  Joel and Tammy moved their family to Kathmandu and started Isis Nepal Children's Home.  They have taken in 20 children who are all verified orphans - many of whom were living on the streets.  They have committed to raising all these kids until they are independent and aren't looking for families to adopt them.  The kids are no longer called orphans as they have all found their "home."  It is a touching story that Meredith remembered.

We are proud of Meredith for thinking of others during her birthday.
