Meredith turns 6!

Sweet little Meredith just turned six and had a wonderful birthday.  We had a family celebration on Friday night (her actual birthday).  She literally jumped up and down with excitement about each present she opened.  Unfortunately Uncle Dan and Aunt Susan's gift got stuck at customs due to a "forbidden substance" (who knew nail polish was forbidden???).   We told them to just remove the nail polish and send the rest of the package.  It took a few days but we heard back and they said okay.  Well, the package arrives and the nail polish was still in there!  Hmmm.  In any case, Meredith was thrilled!

The following afternoon we had a small pig-themed party for her friends.  She invited three friends and let Regan and Jane each invite a friend, too (wasn't that sweet of her?).  We went swimming first and then went back to the house for dinner and playtime.  Meredith wanted NO organized games and the girls all played so well together we didn't need to do much to keep them entertained.

Happy 6th Birthday, Meredith!

At our small family celebration on her actual birthday.

Per Meredith's request for her birthday dinner menu -
Annie's (purple box) Shells and White Cheddar

Happy to be six!

She had been saving her allowance to buy this new
Angelina Ballerina book with paper dolls and a pop up stage
at the end.  Sweet Jane and Regan pooled their savings together
and bought it for her.

More Annie's mac-n-cheese from Gammy and
Poppy.  You can tell Meredith loved
this gift!!

Meredith was thrilled to get an American Girl
doll (McKenna) like her big sisters.  She squealed
when she saw the McKenna movie and outfit from
Grandpa Carl and Gaga

A pig-themed party - it's Meredith's favorite animal.  This was the
sign on the gate (with balloons) to let friends know
which villa was ours.

Gammy and Poppy sent Peppa Pigs which made great centerpieces
for the party.  After *lots* of searching we found raspberry lemonade
as Meredith wanted pink lemonade.  She also wanted grapefruit (also
pink!) as a menu item (as well as kiwis, strawberries, tomatoes and
cucumbers) to go with the pizza and pig cupcakes

Meredith's Russian/ Ukrainian/ Palestinian/ Egyptian friend!  So many
people here in Abu Dhabi have such interesting backgrounds.

Look at the adorable pig cupcakes we had!

Meredith with her new clothes and nail polish kit
(with the "prohibited" material!) made it
safe and sound!
