Happy 2nd birthday, Anna! What an adorable little girl she is growing up to be. We celebrated as a family with some family friends (Eric & Nicole Barton and their three boys). Served Anna's (old?) favorite lasagna - although she seems a little less interested in it than she used to before - maybe she has a new favorite food. She absolutely refuses to change her answer though to the question, "How old are you Anna?" She stubbornly says, "one" and if you try to get her to say "two," she just yells NO! Hmm, hopefully we'll get there sometime during her 2nd year.
My mom sent Valentine's cupcake decorations. They unfortunately didn't arrive in time for Valentine's or Jake's birthday but were the perfect decorations for Anna's party. Thanks, Gammy!
Another one (of many!) of the cutest things Anna says right now. If she sees a birthday cake or birthday cupcake or just birthday candles, she says, "Happy To You!" No birthday, just "happy to you" in a happy uplifting sing-songy voice. We carry candles around all day just to hear her say it.
Our friends who joined us have boys and I think Nicole (the mom) got a kick out of when Anna opened a gift from my Aunt Mary Ann. It was a really cute shirt and I think Nicole must be used to boys who have zero interest in clothes and would toss it aside. When the shirt was pulled out, all three of our older girls gasped, "awww, how adorable! I love it! Anna, look!" I think Nicole was a little bit in awe on seeing some of the gender differences come out so starkly in that reaction.
Anna's main gift was a sand and water table for playing outside. She spent most of the day the next day out there playing with it. I must admit that for practical, follow-the-rules me, it was a little difficult to see her put the sand on the water side and scoop the water on the sand side, but oh, well, she seems to enjoy it mixed up sand and water and all!
And lastly, Anna's class at nursery made her a wonderful handmade card with all the kids' handprints on it. We really love Bright Beginnings!

The sticker notebook that Gammy and Poppy
sent was a big hit - the whole family got involved! |

The sand and water table the next day (see, it's the first day and the
sand and water are already mixed up - shudder!!!). |

All of your girls are adorable and look so much like you! Sorry if you take offense as absolutely none is intended but you look so much like your mom it is just weird! It is really a huge compliment but I understand that phrase getting old! : )
