Although probably not strange to golf followers, I found it quite interesting that the PGA European tour takes a swing through the Middle East. Makes sense weather-wise since much of Europe is a little chilly this time of year for golf. And fun for us to get to see some famous golfers come through.
The whole family loaded up to see this quintessential family-friendly spectator sport. Yes, the sport where silence is required of even the young 'uns. Thankfully Anna was a good sport and the three big kids thoroughly enjoyed the free kit supplied by the tournament sponsor which included a small golf oriented coloring book and colors (nice quiet activity!). We didn't stay long but we were able to see the main American contender (Phil Mickelson) play the 9th whole plus a few other groups come through. There was also a kids' village where the girls could try out their own swings. Pizza and schwarma for lunch and then back for naps. Jake would have loved to have stayed longer but I think the kids had had enough of the silent spectating!
